In this project, we removed mold that had appeared around the window and on the exterior wall of a dormitory room. The main cause of mold growth was the improper use of the space, which did not align with its original design.
When the building was constructed, it was intended that household activities, including cooking and laundry, would take place in shared kitchen and utility areas. However, the resident installed an electric stove and a washing machine inside the room. With no proper ventilation, humidity levels increased significantly, leading to condensation on the cold exterior wall and around the window, which contributed to rapid mold growth.
Our team carried out a thorough mold removal, carefully cleaning the affected areas and treating them with specialized antifungal solutions. Additionally, protective coatings were applied to prevent mold from reappearing.
To prevent further mold development, we recommended restoring the proper use of the space, setting up an effective ventilation system, and maintaining humidity control in the room.
