In this project, we removed mold from the basement of a 19th-century building. Originally, this space was used as a bunker for storing coal, which was loaded through a ceiling hatch. Over time, this hatch became a source of water infiltration, leading to increased humidity and mold growth on the ceiling.
Our team carried out a thorough surface cleaning to remove the mold and then treated the ceiling and walls with specialized antifungal solutions and protective coatings. This not only eliminated visible mold but also helped prevent its recurrence.
For a long-term solution, we recommended that the client eliminate water infiltration through the hatch, improve the room’s waterproofing, and set up ventilation to control humidity levels.
