In this project, our team carried out mercury decontamination after a spill in a children’s room. A mercury thermometer was broken on the laminate flooring, and the main challenge of the cleanup was that small mercury droplets had seeped into the joints between the laminate panels.
Thorough removal required meticulous and time-consuming work. We inspected the surface using specialized lighting and carefully collected mercury droplets from all hard-to-reach areas with specialized tools. Afterward, the affected areas were treated with decontamination solutions that neutralize residual mercury and prevent vapor emissions.
As a result, the room was fully cleaned and made safe for further use.
